CNBC: Guggenheim’s Schwartz Sees Pickup in M&A Activity

Guggenheim Partners Executive Chairman Alan Schwartz said in an interview with CNBC’s Brian Sullivan at the Milken Institute Global Conference that investors should expect a surge in global merger and acquisition activity.

“There has been a lot of M&A dialog in the boardroom for several years and I think it has taken longer to get over the finish line and a lot of deals don’t get done. So I think we are seeing that backlog come to the forefront and I think it will last a while,” Schwartz said.

Schwartz added there were many new companies in the new economy and leveraged buyouts that would want to go public but that deals would depend on market appetite.

Guggenheim Securities Hires Matthew Wesley to Expand Private Capital Advisory Business
