Guggenheim Securities Receives Regulatory Approval for Its Acquisition of Former Lazard Capital Markets London Operations

NEW YORK – Guggenheim Securities, the investment banking and capital markets division of Guggenheim Partners, today announced that it has received regulatory approval from the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK for Guggenheim’s acquisition of the London operations of FM Partners Holdings, formerly known as Lazard Capital Markets International Limited.

Closing of the acquisition is expected on January 31, 2015. The acquisition allows Guggenheim to conduct a range of sales and trading operations, initially focusing on European corporate, financial and structured credit, as well as expanding distribution of U.S. equities. Guggenheim plans to operate the business under the new name of Guggenheim Securities International Ltd.
